We read this one in Jr High in the 80's. It was about these kids mom who ditched them at a rest area in Delaware I think. They sat in the car all day into night and their mom never came back. They then met up with these other kids and did some sailing in the Chesapeake Bay.

I remember stopping at the rest area personally and recalled reading the book. Anyone know?

Thanks.

In the past we've buried them in the back yard. The last one we buried was almost 10 years ago when I was more able and the back yard was less rooted. I believe the vet also told us once that it may be illegal to bury pets in the back yard. The others we've let the vet handle after we said our goodbyes. The most recent passed here at home today. She has given us a lot of love over the years, and I'd like to be able to have her remains handled appropriately.
