It’s funny you mention that. There’s a perfectly good server running with hundreds of players with legit management. They just happened to roll out level 8 spells and epics
How close to the actual Asheron's Call game would you say it is? I have been nervous to jump onto any of these servers, because I have heard they are just a sliver of what the real servers use to be in regards to questing, loot drops etc.
I played on Harvestgain for years, if I hopped onto one of these servers, would it feel like I just rolled a new toon?
It’s pre-TOD basically. Things are being introduced and fixed regularly. As you’ve probably seen already we just got 8’s and epics on armor. There’s only random loot in chests, not creatures yet. Plenty of quests are working to include the entire facility hub. It’s pretty legit I’m enjoying it

Hi there, I am interested in playing AC again, but what did you mean by no creatures? Do you mean that there is no overworld monster spawning?
If no one has answered you and if you haven't joined the discord yet, he was talking about no loot on creatures, with loot only being in chests. However, there is loot on creatures now as well. Lots of progress in the last week.
I havent really followed since phatac developer got the cease and desist letter, at the time ACE was pretty far behind in development. Which server are they using now and how are they releasing updates? Phatac still closed source right?
Or did they take things from the older version of the code he posted to github once up a time.
Still running phatac code. They just update their sql/mariadb/whatever database that contains items, critters, etc. Seems a lot of mechanics are still lacking and can't really be changed without an actual code change, which is why people are still hoping ACE gets some things in plce eventually.
How can I get the info? I played ducktide until it was shut down and I haven't played any emulators since. Been thinking about trying another.

Why can't somebody who's not a psycho or an idiot run a server? They seemingly all have problems with management, or the people who run them are just nuts.
I'd love to play, but I feel like it'd be a waste of time because the crash and burn seems inevitable no matter which server you choose.
Maybe I'm being too pessimistic, though. Would love to find out I'm wrong and that there's actually a decent server out there.
Reefcull/Hightide has 0 drama
That's great. Unfortunately, I'm quite familiar with the people who run that, and have witnessed how they've acted on numerous occasions in the past, on other servers and in other communities. I'm glad to hear they've reeled it in for their own server, but personalities don't just change that quickly. There are numerous legit reasons I've avoided Reefcull/Hightide, as stable as they may be for the time being.
I haven't seen any issues and they do a lot of live events using asheron and bael

That's how I got started the other week. Join the channel, follow the install instructions in the setup channel, and you should be good to go.
