Hapa to Meet Me (a sort of cento)

we all inherit ourselves from a pair
the countryside to the concrete ghetto

flamingo forever out of the sun
crocodile stuck in a fish bowl

watch an old brick wall
get freshly painted

baby just move very slowly
it beats staying at 22

whether you’re a boy or a girl
first you fall down–

stop the sun now
i’m stuck on natural hue

i pick up the vibrations
i thought of that pink

when after dark murder
moggles come out to play

time warp
let’s ride to the internet

thumb and forefinger tap
around here everyone knows

Windows 98 used to talk to me
tapping my pencil waiting for the bell

the forest got demolished
do you pine for the sea?

a mutt getting whacked
how'd you like that?

how many shrimp would
you have to eat

before you make
your skin turn pink?
