Nicehash Cpu Utilization
I was just messing around with nicehash, and was testing the mining power of my cpu using the windows miner v2.0.1.8. I noticed that the miner was only using 8 of the 16 cores on my 7820x. Is Nicehash limited to 8 cores or do I have it misconfigured?

you got 8 cores and 16 threads, it's not the same. mining if fully optimize on cores, not on threads, it's for that it use just 8
Also, xmr requires 2 mb of cache per core. If you have 8 cores but only 14 mb of cache only 7 cores would be used.
this...if you edit the config and try to mine with more logical processors your hash rate will probably drop
Question, my Ryzen 5 1400 is about 50% year but the load is spread across the cores and threads, not 100% cores :P
you can't see your cores, it's not because you see 16 threads actives in windows means they are all working xD it's windows monitoring. make two cores work you will not see just 2 graphics moving ;) and about %, 50% means half "of all" so 8 cores of 16 threads, to make it simply. shame on me to simplify like that but don't know how to say it simplier to make it understandable :)
Oh gotcha
Neat, I understand the difference between logical cores and physical cores, I just assumed allowing the processor to do it's multi-threaded thing would've yielded better results. Thanks for the info
