I hate him for abandoning us mid-contract to go play in Russia. Still think he should have been life banned for that stunt.

Lots of people quit their job and move to another city/country for work.

Lots of people aren't under a contract, that they agreed too, to stay and work for their current employee. He's a piece of shit IMHO.

I've never read an NHL contract, but it seems there is an out-clause if you leave the league?

He had an out-clause to leave the KHL to return to the NHL, but to my knowledge, did not have one in his NHL contract.
