Where to buy the manga

I finished brotherhood like a month ago and haven't yet watched 03 but I plan to. I really want to read the manga as well and I was just wondering where the best place to buy the complete set. I've looked on Amazon but it didn't seem official if that makes any sense. Thanks in advance for any help!

Any bookstore that carries Manga should be a good place to start. My local Barnes and Nobles has the first several volumes when I was there last. You could also try ordering offline through Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, or Books-a-Million. This is for the United States. A combination of in person and online should allow you to find all the volumes quickly and easily. Books-a-Million and Barnes and Nobles both allow you to see local stores inventories online which helps when hunting that rare volume.

Also, Fma has a three in one collection. It will save you money and has some extra stuff in it. (Artwork)

I think the 3 in 1 is what I had found on Amazon. Thanks for the advice!

Those 3-in-1s are a hell of a deal. Might not look as pretty as 27 individual books on the shelf, but they're probably the best versions to get.

A mighty fine deal! I’m currently working on picking up the 3-in-1 of dragon ball. Glad they decide the keep the story in print in an affordable manner. A few other series have 3-in-1’s as well.

I've never bought manga before, I've watched anime for a while but fma is the first one I've enjoyed enough to want to read the source material

I remember when volume one of naruto was released! I only currently have one on going series I collect. The rest are concluded series (Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball). I also collected comics for years. If you need recommendations feel free to ask.

You should wait for the new release of the manga. Starting in May, they’re releasing the Fullmetal edition, which is going to be in hardcover with new covers!

Oh really? That's pretty decent timing haha. Are they releasing them as a set or one at a time?

Haha, one at a time, and I think it’s a quarterly release so it’ll take a while for the whole thing to come out.

Also, covers aside, they’re updating the translations in the new release as well! So much hype.

If you search up Fullmetal Edition on Amazon, you can actually preorder the first volume now.

Good to know. I'll definitely be looking into it!

Do you know how many volumes there's going to be total of the new hardcover version? When I search it up on amazon I see 2 volumes up for pre-order but I assume there's more.

Each on is like two volumes long (judging by page count) Vol1 of the Fullmetal edition is 280 pages, while the 3-in-1 Vol1 is 576. I’m guessing two volumes per Fullmetal edition so, I’m guessing 14 maybe 13. Just a guess though.

It’s 1.5 volumes of material in each book, for a total of 18. You can search up Japan’s kanzenban release of FMA to see all the covers.

I’m just assuming it’s too early for subsequent volumes to be up for preorder.

I am personally waiting for new edition of manga too, additionally, it should contain more pictures than original one, maybe from color books by Arokawa? Well, anyway, I am from Slovakia and here we do not have that many manga shops, I order manga from bookdepository, which has pretty good prizes and good shipping :)
