Launched my game, landed, picked up a weapon and was all set to head on over to the kill the two guys who landed nearby when I was kicked from the game by BattleEye for leaving VMWare running.
I'm all for having a decent anti cheat, but VMWare? It wasn't even VMWare Workstation or whatever, it was a VM console I'd left open to a server from when I was working.
I wasn't banned or anything and just had to restart the game, but it's a tad annoying. If I die early on in squad games I'll sometimes do some maintenance or work on a project or whatever. Ah well.
Hack*. It's a Java based packet sniffer that runs undetected through VMWare's network interface and displays opponents around the player in the map. It's only possible because Bluehole doesn't encrypt their packets. Also, apparently, they haven't blocked other VM solutions.
It's so pathetic if PUBG developers choose to setup rules in BattleEye to disallow vmware just because it "could be used for something". I mean, I can install any hack software on my main host, so why don't ban physical computers too in that case?
PUBG developers are so fucking stupid to think they can work around a problem, instead of fixing it.

With the state of this game I guarantee they don't do that.
I literally got this the other day for the first time. Left my VMware remote client open and got booted out of a game just after my team and I had got our first weapons. Had to ask them all to quit and remake. I was pretty mad because I wasn't even using my gaming rig as my hypervisor, I just left the client open.
Yeah that's what happened here. I don't run VM's on my machine, I have servers for that. I was just using the VMRC to monitor something and left that open.
Like I said I'm all for anti-cheat but I don't see how this would really stop anything.

Anybody else get kicked for a random program?
VMware can be used to have virtual machine to have hacks on it
And if I had one running on my server, closing the console wouldn't stop that.
OK, mr hacker. but stop doing that
You have no idea what he's talking about, huh?
I can use hacks on my main host too. VM is no different.... But, it is PUBG so they probably don't even know what a VM is.

Seems kind of pointless.. I can just use another machine to do that if I wanted.
Edit - you know what, I'm not giving anybody ideas :)
You don't even need another machine.

Developers don't run the anti-cheat..
Battle-Eye does this for many games they protect.
ya know, until one smart guy figures out how to decrypt and makes it public. like csgo and every other game that has encryption. ¯\(ツ)/¯
I have retrieved these for you _ _

Yeah it really is pointless.
