Work Sets You Free
I hope that (but why does my soul invest?
I hear the base track; a base solo. Foundation poured beneath my breast
Betwixt our allegoric recreations of the Hundred Years’ War
And the ringing of an incipient heat spawning just beneath our floor
Lies the lie: the hello, neigh goodbye. The blissful knot
The gallows gallop, though not really. I still feel like I’m caught
Stroke! Stroke! The doctor doesn’t make house calls anymore
Just another patient. Nameless here for evermore
Life is love [sic], though Jack’s syrup won't suffice
Med school makes you self reliant, but Dr. Jack is half the price
The heavens are within arm’s reach, so shake, Shakyamuni
Life would be so much easier if I could only say that.) she hates me
