This isn't necessarily about an abusive relationship, but a depiction of a contentious romantic relationship in its final stages. 

To redact my previous comment (in a sense) i could see it also being imagery to describe an abusive relationship? 
It does take away from the mystery when an author explains their work, but any chance you'd like to explain what you were going for when you wrote it?

I love the imagery, dark and real. Made me think of the Jim Morrison poem which is why i clicked on it to view it, but this is completely different hahaha

The weak preying on the weaker.  Many do this for an easy dinner.  Sloppy seconds to erosion.  That's how I interpret it.  Love is an ugly tug-o-war, pulling your victim across the line.  Or be pulled.

This is a beautiful piece for it's brevity. you convey so much in so few lines, and it also reminds me of an abusive/ user relationship or friendship. I wonder whether you're the narrator of the poem or the subject of the abuse/ use?

Brutally beautiful. Nature has many faces, and I've seen this face many times before. This piece doesn't inflame my negative feelings towards predatory human behavior to a new level, but it certainly reminds me of them. If we aren't reminded of terrible things, we might forget about them. That would be a sad day indeed. If I were a painter, I would be moved to try and capture your image. For critique, If i were to edit for word choice, I would change "your" in the fourth line to "the". I think the ending "r" sound created some drag that I don't like, and we've already used "your" to establish the predator-prey relationship earlier.

Yes! This is exactly the type of poem I love to see because it creates incredible imagery and meaning in so little words. What I really love is your choice of rhyming words and use of assonance. It creates such a free feeling flow to the poem, but what's even better is that "hunger" and "plunder" already seem naturally synonymous with "vulture." The only thing I see that might throw me off is that, and honestly I'm probably just nitpicking here, each line is 6 syllables except for the last one which has 7. Overall, this is beautifully executed and is definitely one of my favorite poems you've posted so far! 

I always enjoy your style philo. I like the stark imagery in your short poems that always leave you wanting a little more. I am wondering if you got rid of the word 'and', just leaving: it pecks at your ribs / I crack open for plunder. I think it puts it in more present tense, considering it's about a final moment. Idk just thoughts. 

My heart is a vulture
