Bungie, if you aren't going to be able to fix 6v6 Iron Banner before Season 3 starts, can you at least put the 4v4 version of the event into rotation for the people who don't have all of the ornaments and loot?

Bungie Suggestion

I know that the community managers have both mentioned that they want to get another Iron Banner in before the season ends, and they know there are people still trying to get those ornaments. If it turns out you can't get 6v6 fixed in time, I think most people would rather have the 4v4 version than not having Iron Banner at all.

u/dmg04 or u/cozmo23 said in a reddit thread that the people who are wanting to complete the ornament sets and loot sets are at the top of their minds when it comes to this issue. Sorry I don’t have a link, but they did comment on this.

Not quite, Cozmo and dmg aren't exactly programmers or engineers. The literal best they can do in their position is tell the people who can fix it about it and hope they can get it done before Season 3.

We don't know for sure. It was supposed to be this week, but they found a game-breaking issue with it so they've postponed it. All we've heard is that they're doing their best to get it fixed before season 3 so people can get the ornaments.

Check yesterday’s weekly update they fixed the issue and iron banner is launching the 17th of April 6v6

When did it get delayed a second time? I thought it was just pushed back because of the ANTEATER errors. Source for second delay? In the Bungie Blog post they said Banner would be back before Season3.

Actually, they said it would be back "as soon as we can deploy a fix". That was the only timetable given in TWaB or the Bungie Help post about it. Hopefully it will indeed be before season 3, but there's no guarantee of that yet. And there was no second delay, they just announced the delay last week. We'll very likely get an update on whether it's coming back before season 3 tomorrow from TWaB.

Please some kind of IB. Last week after the update I pulled all my pulse rifles outta my vault preparing to go into the crucible and see what was working and what was still junk. Pulled out my time worn spire then sat the controller on my chair so I could go grab a drink and get ready to dig in for a night of crucible. I come back to find my fat lazy 🐈 laying on my controller and my time worn spire is now lost forever. Stupid cat!!! Lol

Yeah, I'm with you, they should absolutely do this if they are unable to get 6v6 working before season 3 (but I hope they surprise us with a working version next week). I've already got all the weapons, armor and ornaments, but I know that many players still don't, and they deserve another chance. Plus I really like IB and wanna play it again before season 3.

I have a couple of clanmates who saw 6v6 on the roadmap for March so they skipped the last Iron Banner figuring they'd finish everything up in the revised game mode. I would imagine there are a lot of people like them out there.

The only thing I'm missing personally is the shotgun which I don't imagine will be unobtainable in Season 3, but I can't help but want it safe in my vault before the season hits just to be safe.

Oh that's a bummer, and I can see a lot of people having done that. I too doubt that any of the weapons will be unobtainable in season 3, but yeah better safe than sorry, plus with more weapons probably coming in season 3 it will just make it more difficult to get older stuff. Good luck snagging that shotgun if we do get another IB soon, it's beastly and I've been having a lot of fun with it in Crucible.

Well it was going to be on sale at Saladin this IB, and with the daily milestones it shouldn't take more than an hour or two to get the tokens needed to buy it outright, so I'm hopeful. I made myself use the Chaperone in D1 because of how difficult the quest for it was for me at the time, and I fell in love with that thing. Now if I'm using a shotgun in PvP, it's going to be a slug shotgun, and supposedly the IB one is the best of the bunch.

Hopefully they will retain the same weapons on sale then if it comes back next week. I too was a huge fan of The Chaperone, and I definitely prefer slug shotguns in D2 (although Acrius is fun). Gunnora's Axe is easily the best of them, with its high base range and Opening Shot perk. If your aim is true, you'll get some headshot kills from ridiculous ranges. It's the closest thing we have to The Chaperone in D2 currently.
