The Orbit
The sun is rising to my rear
Blinded by good faith in the mirror
Rosy pricking golden pins
Stitching sin under stars again
I used to shine in light before
Never have I needed mores
Until I needed you
So many men would like to claim
The satin threaded through these veins
Of words, of scrolls, of a spiderweb mind
All the wastes of my goddamn time
When to them I'm worth an empty glass
Echoed in dark moments we could snatch
And yet the earth still spins
Now I am dawning from the haze
Eyes like primroses fade away
I am sober, if only for today
As pennies pick up some worth in rays
I am bleached
I am burned
For myself
I yearn
For myself
--only
For now
Until the orbit
Comes back around
Edit: It feels too... cliche? Too millennial? How do I avoid talking about stars and shit?
