the river danced

here's a bit of a rework of one i submitted earlier this week

the river danced as we did
our feet responding in kind
the rain on its surface gave rhythm 
its flow keeping us entwined
we promised each other forever
carved our names upon its shore
but as our story ended
the river danced, evermore
