Afraid of nothing
The unanswerable question, is:
'What is the meaning of life?'
There are more answers,
Than humans on Earth.
More, because no human can answer
On behalf of the Universe
And its countless denizens
For it was the cosmos that birthed us
In its nurseries of stars
And which feeds us and comforts us,
Admonishes us when we misbehave
And teaches us lessons
We all too often ignore
But it does not judge
Or demand acquiescence
It does not condemn us
For not worshipping its sun
Or its galaxies, planets and moons
And who are we, to question its purpose.
So here we float
On this speck of debris
Quietly circumnavigating
Our infinitesimal corner of this vast abyss
And we are afraid
Afraid of nothing
Or is it rather
The sheer incomprehensible magnitude of everything?
