Tea

I am like tea.
Steep me too lightly
and I am tasteless,
spoon stirring whirlpools
whipping me away
from the cup.
Brew me too deeply
and I am bitter,
bags burdening leaves
to sink and stew
in the cup.
Either way there is a risk
that I will burn too hot
and bite your tongue.
