More/rest of the grow diary here
very cool. my first seed I ever popped (H.S.O Purple Trainwreck) happened to have Polyploidism as well!
Polyploidism!!!!! Fuck you’re one lucky duck! Would love to see this thing at harvest.... well done mate!
Not polyploid, fasciation.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciation
The massive amount of sugars make me think polyploid
I've seen several of these plants, it's fasciation. Look at a comparative picture between polyploidy and fasciation. Strip the leaves and look at the stem after harvest. It will have a "crested" or cristate stem.
From wiki-
Fasciation (pronounced /ˌfæʃiˈeɪʃən/, from the Latin root meaning "band" or "stripe"), also known as cresting, is a relatively rare condition of abnormal growth in vascular plants in which the apical meristem (growing tip), which normally is concentrated around a single point and produces approximately cylindrical tissue, instead becomes elongated perpendicularly to the direction of growth, thus, producing flattened, ribbon-like, crested (or "cristate"), or elaborately contorted tissue.
Polyploid-

Notice three bud sets coming out of a single non-alternating node? That's polyploidy.
Fascinated-
This is what I mean by a crested stem. It's also common in trichocereus cacti. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tYz0GcyOSZs/UR6D8-eYvII/AAAAAAAAAGE/4TSkIrsUl7E/s1600/Fasciation.jpg

Ah good stuff thanks for the info
Fuck today I learned. Thanks mate!
Polyploid giving more trichomes is a myth
Hah thanks, I'll update at harvest :)
Is that what's it's called there a cola on my plant that has that weird shape?!
Yes! Here is a cool video about polyploid cannabis if you want to learn some more :)
Depends. This genetic showing is like a three pointed strawberry (those really wide strawberrys)
What a trip
