the moon, revisited
the moon
means something else to me;
i refuse to find it bleak- i watch
the velvet tapestry, sliced by the peak.
we are
the moon- we share a similar DNA,
reflecting energy
and so the night is lit by day.
we see the positivity that lives
inside the heart;
we try to pay it back
and so illuminate the dark.
we, as people-
not you, not I-
but all the shades of life united
underneath the sky.
for there is brightness
in the midst of
stillness in the wake;
the human spirit
sharpens still and
pierces through the snake-
the human spirit
hangs above and calls itself
the moon.
