Movement ceasing, my heart did leap
When there you stood, upon the street
Looking at stars from underneath
What heaven could define you?

And when we meet up on that day
Rejoice! Rejoice! Do not dismay!
My life and heart in disarray
Destined always to find you

What better souls to blend than these
I fell upon my bended knees
And laughed and sang from tree to tree
Longing, now far behind you

Yearning, youthful, fruitful still
From tree to tree, from hole to hill
And from the sound of whippoorwills
Destined always to find you
