Denial
I desperately reach for you
through clumps of timelines and dimensions;
I dive into a sea of memories
and thoughts I'm too ashamed to mention.
I bathe in basins of denial,
Cheek pressed against the cold white marble.
When truth comes knocking on my bathroom door
I spring and I pretend I'm startled.
That's fake - I felt its presence earlier;
Truth watching me in silence's nothing new.
From underneath the door I saw it's shadow,
But I was daftly hoping it was you.
One day I'll somehow break reality,
I'll free us from its rigid fist,
and I'll demand it takes me back to you,
or at least somewhere you still exist.
