My favourite colour

My favourite colour is red -

The red that surprisingly trickles out of

a cut in the dark skin;

The red that betrays

the sadness behind puffy eyes;

The red in orifices

yearning to be filled;

And the colour of a throbbing,

beating, wounded heart.
