'That day' of the year

Everyone suddenly remember, I am alive.

The inbox kept flowing.

The incoming made noise.

My photo went viral.

Everyone wanted to reach me at the stroke of 12.

Like I've become a rock star overnight.

I realised it was 'that day' of the year.

Gifts kept knocking the door.

Everyone said those words,

Like the morbid soldier.

A cake was brought.

The candles were lighted.

Make a wish, someone says.

I wished everyday should be like this day.

But, only disappointed made contact each day.

I realise everyday cannot be like 'that day' of the year.
