A Story with No Real Plot

Feedback Received!

It was the mid of June
it was afternoon
And I was sitting in the woods humming out a sad tune

I whispered, “I’ve got a nickel to my name
I’ve got no type of game
I need to figure out how to get some fame

When I… heard a twig crack
I had to step back
A shady woman popped up lookin all types of wack

She started walking closer
Smiling like a movie poster
I wanted to ghost her
But she was stuffed like a Hooters’ Hoster

So, My mind was running wild
My nails were unfiled
And my breath was still hot from that Taco Bell Sauce, mild

I thought, “what a scary fellow
Color scheme like mellow-yellow
Telling me Hello
In a chainsmoker’s bellow”

She said, “Don’t be afraid
I’ll tell you how to get made
No cost, no fee, I’m not here to get paid
I’m... magical like Elsa in Frozen
Consider yourself lucky you’re the one that got chosen
I only appear here every 27 years
I know all your desires and innermost fears”

Freaked out but not dazed
Fuzzy but unphased
Maybe I should’ve gone to college, this is worst than getting hazed

I replied, “let me put you on hold girl,
Cool girl, I’m not even sold girl
I don’t know who you’re trying to fool, you’re incredibly bold girl
Stop lying
This crap I’m not buying
Try to spit some truth before your mouth starts flying”

Then, the girl smiled at me
She smiled something wily
Her mouth opened wider than the homegirl Reid Riley

When she spoke, the world was set to fire
The ground beneath split apart, my situation got dire
The gates of hell rose before me with smoke of golds and reds
The woman morphed into a demon with twenty three heads

She spit up two skeletal mics and tossed me the smallest one
She said, “If you want to get out of here, then let’s have some fun
Beat me in a staring contest and I’ll turn head and run
But, fail to best me and consider yourself done”

Now naturally, I didn’t want to look silly
And my bestfriend Billy
Told me never Dally Dilly
So, hard went my Willy
I was about win Illy

With a sly, poisonous smile, she said, “let the games begin
I know I’ll win”

I said, “Oh, you watched that movie too?”
Out of the blue
She shouted, “What the hell are you talking about? Are you on glue?”
With a coy grin, I responded, “maybe, you shrew.”

Let’s skip to the future because great writers like tension
Not to mention
Plot twists and foreshadowing was never my intention

Everybody knows
How the old story goes
With your wrinkled, stout nose
and your curled up toes

Waiting for the final page turner
Heart burner
Sweat churner
Like an avid learner

But, no lies, no gripes, this is how the story ends
People don’t beat the devil, the rulebook never bends
I’m writing this from hell as my skin boils raw
Clinging on to sanity to the final curly straw

I thought I could pull off a “Devil Went Down To Georgia”
Not quite the same when you have a real demon glaring toward ya
So, accept random kindness, no matter who it’s from
You never know who will help play your tune on fate’s drum
