Sir Gallant

I was a vast old cavern,
With hidden treasures stored,
And you the brave young hero,
Flaunting your broad sword.

You thought you'd map my chasms,
And proclaim yourself their lord,
As though you could ever conquer,
These walls which you'd adored.

Despite your noblest efforts,
And the sweat you poured,
I cast you out with all the rest,
My depths still unexplored.
