Endo Specialist in TN

Hi Everyone,

I posted earlier about my frustration with ineffective treatment and was wondering if there are any recommendations closer to where I live. I'm in Nashville and currently under the care of Joy Cox. She says that she performs excision surgery, but I pretty much don't trust doctors anymore.

If not, I'll check out the doctor in Chattanooga.

Thanks!

I live in Chattanooga and Dr. Furr performed my excision in May of this year. I was actually in for a bilateral laparoscopic salpingectomy and he discovered my endometriosis while I was under. He got my husband's consent to perform the excision. He changed my life. I always thought I had horrible cramps, PMS, tired muscles and chronic UTI's, I'd been on birth control since I was 15 (I am 32) to help with what I thought were normal period side effects. It's only been 2 months since my surgery and I have no scarring or discomfort. I've had two periods with no pain. I can't recommend him enough. PM me if you'd like to know more.

Hey there... I'm looking into another surgery for Endo.. wanted to know if your surgeon found any adhesions or implants on your colon or bladder? TIA. I'm so happy to hear you are doing well!

I had implants on both. My surgeon was able to remove them. It took about a week before my soreness went away after surgery and using the restroom was not fun during that time! Things are still pretty good now that I am 5 months post-op, the only really uncomfortable flare-up was after I ate a hamburger so I have been avoiding red meat.

You might look into Dr. Amanda Yunker, she's in Nashville.

Dr Yunker is on the list of "expert" surgeons in Nashville on Nancy's Nook. I'm sure she has heard of Nancy's nook. Check out on Facebook Nancy's Nook Endometriosis Education. You have to request to be added, but I've learned more about endo from here then anywhere else. I also found my fantastic endo specialist through them. They list all the surgeons who specialize in endo. She may not be the right fit, but it's a start! Good luck!
