Rebirth

The cosmos are ending as the final song awakens once again to prepare for the new beginning. The song plays a melody no ears have ever heard before, a melody of both life and death, a melody that speaks of everything that is, ever was, and ever would be, with barely a hum. The song that bends the cosmos to prepare it for it's new birth as a midwife would prepare the pregnant woman for the new life she will soon bear.

The only one's left to hear the song are now the heroes of legend. Those older than entire civilizations, wiser than the greatest minds that spanned quadrants. The final warriors ready for their final battle as they had always done during the end. Nurses helping the midwife prepare everything for the birth of the child.

Their battle ground is the last galaxy that survives. Their weapons, entire solar systems and supernovae. Sun's barely seemingly like pebbles in their path. Existence shakes with their clashes, stars grow cold and quite under their gaze. Every shot that they take splinters what remains of reality apart a bit more.

They have had this dance every single time during the end of existence, for it is this dance that adds vigour to the song that brings energy to the next universe, that spreads the will to fight and survive amongst all those born in it.

With every dead warrior the song changes, gaining in strength, gaining in certainty of what is to come. At last there are only two and they fight at each other's throat on the last planet in existence as they always had. At last they both give each other the killing blow as it had always been, but as they lay dying they notice that the song went on a moment longer than it had ever before.

As the song ends existence ends with it, and in its place is a new beginning. A great flash of light bringing in the birth of a new infinity.

As the warriors awaken once again, all two of them can think about is how the song had changed. At last their senses come back to them, and all they hear is infinity screaming, and they too scream along with it.

This is brilliant!! I never thought about the warriors and midwives that help the universe along, and the allusion to the universe beginning and ending again and again is truly great; but that the universe began with a scream this time is just chilling!!!

Is that a sign of good writing or bad writing?

Good writing, it makes good use of metaphors and it's super abstract.

Uh...thank you. I will be honest with you. I didn't realise that until you told me right now. I took everything to be literal.

Unless you mean the midwives. I just remembered them. lol.
