Heartache

I tell you, “goodbye, Heartache,”

But I know I'll see you tomorrow

When the day comes to a close

And my love life is filled with sorrow.

“Goodbye, Heartache,”

I say again and again,

But I know I'll see you all the more

Like a face of a familiar friend.

“Hello, Heartache,”

A phrase I should get used to saying

Because I feel you every morning

Even before I get to start praying

“No more, Heartache,”

A sentence I hope to say before my dying,

But I know it's just a silly dream,

And to myself - I know I am lying.
