A poem I'm stuck on. Please help
So I've been writing this poem for over a month, but can't seem to feel good about it yet. Constructive feedback would be much appreciated:
.
.
Fields of Gold
If not for a lack of lakes and rivers,
This serene place could be home.
.
An immeasurable number of golden straws
Rising four feet tall, worshipping the sky above.
.
A field of grasses stealing sunshine,
Bowed down and laden with seed.
.
Straws providing shelter and beauty,
Harboring the livings of animals around.
.
A swath of rolling hills of gold,
Dogged by trees of oliver and rust.
.
A blanket of threads woven together,
Ruffled amongst the wind.
.
Butted up against the Sierras,
Purple mountains topped with purity.
.
White snow, to cap off the beauty,
As it glances against the sapphire sky.
.
As the golden grasses run through my toes,
‘Tis the sheer beauty around to observe.
