Because I'm asking a favor on my current project I have no money to work with on, but will be getting them an actual paid gig on the next project (and beyond if their schedule is free) alongside my deepest gratitude for helping me bring my no-budget passion project to life.
Everyone that graciously worked on my passion project for free got, at least, one paid job the same year because producers ask me who I want to hire for jobs.

This is a reasonable answer; I'm assuming that you (unlike others) wouldn't take offense and/or respond aggressively to anyone that turns you down?
