On route to a burial
Sister, you left so early,
Even before the sun had rose,
Where were you going
That you had to leave so soon?
Did you want to leave us?
Because you left
Without saying goodbye,
We didn't have time - not even to cry.
It wasn't right for our mother
To bury her daughter and your brother
To commission you to the ground,
And put your soul to rest.
The things you held are nothing
But sentimental memories,
And the many words unspoken
Are as quiet as you - when you left.
