Do successful auditioners all get called about the same time?

Hey, folks. So I auditioned in Vancouver in February. The local network just did a story about one of the successful candidates, who will be going to L.A. next month to be on the show.

My question: do they call all of the successful auditioners right around the same time? It looked like most of the Toronto players appeared in a cluster.

I guess the nub of my question is: do I yet have hope? Or am I most likely an unsuccessful candidate?

No, they don’t. You could get Called at any point in the 18-month window.

Is this true for special tournaments as well? E.g. the Teen Tournament or the Tournament of Champions

I don't know why you put the ToC in there; people need to have won on the show a bunch to get the invite to play in that.

But in the case of Teen, College, or Teachers, those people would all get let know at the same time.

That being said, OP wasn't asking about tournaments.

Are you supposed to make it known that you're going to be on Jeopardy, especially if you haven't even filmed yet? I thought it was supposed to be kept a secret until shortly before your episode airs.

It was a special thing -- the station got notified by Sony that she was going to be a contestant, so they went to her town to meet with her to shoot a promo, and sprung on her there that she got the invite (as if she couldn't have guessed).

I was also at the February audition in Vancouver and had the same question! Were you at the morning or afternoon audition?

I was in the morning group. You were in the afternoon group, I reckon, as I don't recall any university-aged teens in the morning.

Indeed, I was in the afternoon group. I guess children like me are rare enough to be memorable :P Was the teacher from New West who was on a few weeks ago in your group?

He wasn't at the Vancouver audition -- he auditioned in the US. He had a story about being stopped by border agents for hours and missing the first audition opportunity and having to go back down for a different audition.
