Meditating by the street lights

Feedback Received!

This is my first post and the first poem that sees the light of day in 6 years. I've been writing since I was kid, but I stopped showing them to anyone when my literature teachers in college told me that I was suppose to be post-modern because this is what they think the literary period in my country is right now. I realized they deny the new generation in favor of what they new 50 years ago. With me, many, many of my friends stopped trying to publish , some of us stopped writing in our own language too.

So here it is, I'm emerging again and I'm happy I found here people who feel when they write!

Happy to meet you, lovely people!

Meditating by the street lights

A simple undulating song with ancient echoes coats the night as colorful lights brush us as they melt by into the ever moving darkness creating shifting shadows.

I watch the watery night intertwined with orange and white and red and blue glows as I sink deeper into it and count my breaths afraid of my own consciousness as life seems to take the shapes of a dream and I sink into myself aware of the facets of my own perception.

I can touch it, but I cannot grasp certainty and I float into the darkness undulating around me like an endless ocean poring straight from the cosmos, filling the sky, moving in soundless, silky waves on the walls of the buildings, the barks of the trees, the skins of people.

Nothing seems to be alive, but the night, wearing the thousands little suns made by men to befriend the darkness, like so many jewels as offerings.

We are all but dreaming and we are welcomed in a world of shifting consciousness, welcomed to meditate to sound and color as the voice of a woman whispers "mea culpa" in a passing car, unknown, indistinct,a spake of peaceful, bewildered thought.

I have peace...

My mind moves with the whirling shadows as I blind myself starring into the glowing lights of the city, existence feels like a dream, but I can't find the dreamer.
