Starlight

She watches me with starlight in her eyes,

They burn me, like a thousand sunlit sparks,

Melting my feeble body’s cold disguise,

My love, my loss, my stolen beating heart.

She watches me, the match that strikes the flame,

To set alight the single dying breath

My chest, a tinderbox, cannot contain.

Her gaze attacks me like the jaws of death.

She watched me fall, with pleasure or with pain,

Her stare igniting, charring to the core.

She spoke to me, but sound was ripped away,

As flames engulfed my eyes with deafening roars.

I fell down at her feet, an ashen corpse,

The spark of life extinguished at the source.
