Glowing Holy Hell with A Dirty Smell
She waits.
Sunlight glaring.
Never daring to accept it.
So she stays
laying in the dirt
asking for the earths embrace.
Rejecting it.
After a while
The ants begin to gather
and say
Great, dead meat
lets eat.
The ground just wont stop being at her feet
Her heart continues to beat
She cant deal
She prepares herself as a meal
And is surprised she doesnt like how it feels.
She's starving, while heaving
keeling over to spill
Nothing.
Tar.
Toxic waste.
No space for a baby to grow
No room for light to show
just a blackhole
driving her into the ground like a mole
Shes a hidden soul
in a glowing holy hell with a dirty smell.
So I wrote this when I was feeling particularly pitiful a week or two ago. I feel better now but I still like the poem. Did some revision to post on here. Would love any feedback since Im pretty new to poetry. Also "ground wont stop being at her feet" sounded familar to me? If anyone recognizes it let me know. I hope its just been bouncing around my head a while and I havent taken it from a song Ive heard or something.
