The Fixer
The Fixer
I can fix just about anything, yet everything I own is broken. Not broken beyond use, but enough for people to turn away.
It is a choice I made, because in a way I am also broken. Too many times things I fixed have been taken away, some walked on their own.
A car repaired and soon stolen, taken by someone who now wanted it more. A business salvaged, profit and glory befallen someone else.
My greatest grief and largest joy, was the woman I found in pieces. She was broken almost beyond salvation, but I could see her whole.
In her broken form she loved me, together we began setting her pieces right. Over time she became whole, the effort well spent.
Yet once whole her worth rose, she found me no longer worthy. She left me for someone else, an apology and hope of understanding.
I am a fixer and can fix just about anything, yet everything I own is broken.
