Happiness, Sickness, and Health

Sorry for the corny title, but here, have a positive, gushing post as an apology:

I got sick a week ago or so, and it's been knocking the shit out of me the past couple days.

My Primary was sick before me, and I'm pretty sure I got it from her, and I took care of her when she took a sick day. She just lazed around the house and I made homemade soup and stuff.

We're poly... but we don't currently have active sexual partners, outside of each other.

Even with that, our connections have been amazing. Our ex-primary (now roomie) helped us run chores, and her cowboy even helped with laundry when he spent the night. He is insecure with me, and this is something new and hugely appreciated (I did some computer work for him, a week or so ago. It helped.)

My metamour called and talked to me because I was feeling down because, in not having a wage job, the idea of a "sick day" is kinda weird to me. He talked me into it, and I was preparing for a messy house and the depression that comes from not feeling "useful"... but I did agree with him that I needed it.

I'm also the DM/GM for our group's weekly tabletop RPG. A couple days ago everyone was telling me they hope I'm good enough for the game this Friday, and while I expect to be, I was a little stressed...

Until this morning I woke up three hours late... and found out that my chores for the day were done, the book I'm writing was open and had new corrections/opinions for me to look over, and there was a bowl of soup in the microwave, with a note that read as follows:

"We want you to be in shape for Friday's game... so we helped out with obstacles to that. Enjoy this tasty food, and the health potion in the fridge. In love and admiration [Primary and Roomie]."

Fridge had a bottle of dayquil (better cold) and two bottles of BAWLS, my preferred energy drink, to help offset my fatigue.

Normally I'd have gotten them ready for work, but they did it themselves, and took care of me as well.

Even if there are some emotional issues everyone's going through this year, and even if we're at odds in the day to day, this is my family, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

TL;DR: I'm sick as a dog, and all the connections I've made in being poly made me feel loved and appreciated today.

[edit]: I've just been made aware, by delivery of post, that someone in the group bought me a set of dice I've been eyeing. Ten bucks of zinc, and I'm ugly-crying with snot because people care about me.
