[1218] The Memory of Blood - Prologue

This time I am sharing my prologue even though I'm terrified of y'all. (am I using that American word correctly?)

I feel I need to say that the rest of the story is set in Brisbane (AUS) not where this scene is set. As a prologue, this scene sets up the underlying cause of the shiz that goes down in the main story but there is a significant gap.

There is stuff here that is not explained. That is intentional. My purpose is to hint at few old issues. All of which will be worked out through the main story.

So, if stuff's not fully explained, but you can kind of guess or begin to wonder / hypothesise about it, that's good. If you're at a total loss, that's bad. You can let me know.

Some of my sentences are long. Are they too long?

I have a great love for words. Lots of subtle and interesting words. I read a bunch, and I like using alllll the words. I like the minutiae of meaning that high frequency words sometimes lack. But maybe I go too far. Let me know.

If you can be kind while being honest, you would make me happy. (am I allowed to ask for that?)
