Mundane Medicine for the Mind
My fingers ache.
The palm of my hand is fire.
I’ve tossed it more times then I care for,
I’ve dropped it even more.
I feel as if I should walk away,
Still I try.
A mighty weight
From all these memories,
I’m amazed at how far they fly.
Sometimes they fade to distant memories
Then back to where I found them last before.
I know this game,
All of it’s rules,
The names of all its players.
They tell you you should learn,
Know all of these things
But they never tell you that
You should also learn to forgive.
