The tree who grew

Feedback Received!

A father planted his seed under a stone, something he will one day need to atone.

A tree stands where he once planted his seed.
He planted his seed but nurtured it not,
neglected it.
but in not nurturing it the little sapling developed a thought,
"What if this little tree could still grow?"
He pushed and he shoved
He broke and he bent.
He questioned if he was still loved.

He grew the wrong way he thought.
His roots tore up the path.
Yet, there along the journey up,

he saw what he sought,
to see above the fence
to touch the rays of the sun.
No longer in the shadow he was raised
No longer afraid to grow.
