Thanks for the feedback, even I was in two minds about that...

I like it, very neat little reminder of the possible straight-forwardness of future war.

but
mister as opposed to Mr. or Mister makes me very uncomfortable and I can't say why.

That's a great insight, it will improve me.

Hi there!

Interesting piece. The most powerful moment idea here, and why I think this piece is really worthwhile is this notion of no-bloodshed because the bodies evaporate. Whether or not it's accurate is not my area of expertise; context aside, I like it.

As far as it being a haiku, it feels quite forward to me. Maybe you are purposefully "breaking the rules". And I don't like to tell people they are doing a form "wrong," but traditionally in a haiku the narrator does not editorialize at all: just the facts ma'am. The moment where the narrator tells the audience to do something ("Thank") I suddenly feel the narrators opinions inserted into the piece— even "this time" feels like a comment on the image, as opposed to the image on it's own. Usually in haiku we are presented with two contrasting images that naturally lead us to a conclusion. Again, this is not to say this haiku is wrong, but when I was surprised by the approach given its categorization.

Overall I like the content, but

This really doesn't meet the definition of a Haiku, which goes far beyond a simple syllable count. However, it does meet poet, Allen Ginsberg's, definition of an "American Sentence" - and it's a good one. I think grammatically you want a colon rather than a comma after "evaporates".

The way you frame the "Thanking" makes it sound like an accusation. The reason I am focusing on this aspect is with a haiku you have 17 syllables to make a point, every one of them will be thought about and scrutinized by the reader, every beat is relevant. I believe that to be part of the beauty of the haiku, there is a lot of room for innovation inside a very small space. The flip side, however, is that they require a lot of thought about the way the reader will experience them.

It's a not very deeply thought I must admit. Secondly, I'm not deeming anyone guilty, I'm "Thanking" them.

Interesting idea, historically inaccurate. The majority of damage done by a nuclear bomb is done by the fallout and the radiation. Additionally, there is the question of who's fault it really was; the man who invented the bomb or the people who decided to use it. I like everything except the last line, it sounds naive and brash. Would love to see an alternative "Peace is expensive".

No bloodshed this time,
Everyone evaporates,
Thank mister Einstein.
