Road is fully blocked and they're redirecting traffic. Tons of police vehicles, Ring alert on law enforcement activity in the area.

APD just did a live feed. They got a call from an "distressed male." Cops got there, checked with residents and found no threat.
Appears to be a false alarm.

Yep, just saw the vide APD put out, and it sure sounds like some jackassery. Thankfully no one was in the apartment and SWAT didn’t take someone down.

I was just driving there to move in. Told it was in lockdown and they there was a situation. Tons of police and an armored vehicle. Quite a few undercover vehicles and a helicopter which could be news or police. Anyone know any specific details?

This is a very safe neighborhood. This is an unfortunate accident of some disgusting man child calling to waste the police departments time.
It was a 100% fake call and there was never any danger.

Figured it was something like that. Frustrating, and expensive, but I suppose it’s good that they take it seriously. I’m guessing that there are a couple steamers in the neighborhood, which is where it may have come from (trolls).

Austin doesn't spend that kind of money when someone is locked in tight.
There are 2 choppers circling making eights. I don't believe that the situation is contained in an apartment.

I mean, maybe. But it happens all the time. There have been multiple incidents of just suicide threats receiving SWAT response. I saw choppers multiple times when I lived in Windsor Park, and a majority of the time I couldn’t even find any news items about why they were deployed.

I live just right across the street - they opened up Parmer at about 7:45-7:50 and they're still clearing up on Anderson. I managed to walk into the cameras filming the police officer talking so I had my 2 seconds of fame.

I live at the artisans and they have the entrance completely shut down. Seems to be a hostage situation

My friend lives there - he said they sent an email to the residents to "stay inside" and that there's an "emergency situation."
There were also armed troops walking through apparently.
Edit: Maybe not troops, he just clarified that they were armed with assault rifles and green camo.
