Apologies for the formatting, it looked ok before I submitted it but I’m new to reddit. I think you picked up that purple is supposed to represent the blend of blue for sadness and red for anger, and hurple is a type of strained/limping walk, symbolising the struggle of continuing the ‘race’. I think it fits what I was trying to say, but I agree that it probably wasn’t necessary and sort of forced in there.

I like the energy of the poem. You had a strong start and it catches my attention immediately. I wish you had formatted it differently. It makes it slightly hard to follow.

Your rhyme of purple and hurple sounds kind of forced but I like the color metaphor. I liked your ending a lot. It's meter is nice and it feels very paralleled.
