Loneliness
Most people don't know what it's like
To see colors in black and white
To be surrounded all day long
And still be all on my own
--
I’ve searched the world for a friendly hello
But find no more lengths for me to go
It’s sad that nothing would leave me so high
As anybody saying to me goodbye.
--
The last thing I put on each day
Is the smile from my dresser that I had tucked away
I save it hoping it’ll keep its shade
But lately I’ve noticed its starting to fade
--
It’s going to rain tonight, despite the clear skies
And people will ask me why there’s red in my eyes
I don’t tell the truth, all I give is a lie
But secretly, deep down I hope they will pry
--
The only warmth I ever feel is in my bed.
So I get under the covers and lay down my head
I used to ask god to ease my heartache
But now I just pray that he won’t let me wake
most people don't know what it's like
to see colors in black and white
to be surrounded all day long
and still be all on my own
--
I wish I had somebody to whom I could say hi
or at the very least to say goodbye
--
nobody sees the tears I cry
although I wouldn't let them I wish they'd try
--
I'm just sitting here now all alone
and wishing I weren't on my own
--
don't believe the smile I i don
because I don't know if I can go on
