Mansion
I awake
Encased in robes of former glory
With a battered alarm clock beside me
It rests on a cabinet made of memories
It contains ancestory
The kind that is told to you by grandparents
During their intoxicated haze
It looks like childhood
/
A distorted greyscale painting
Perched upon the chimney breast
Playing tricks with my eyes
The house is decorated in '70s attire
It leaves a sour taste in my mouth
A visual acid reflux
/
A large escritoire containing aged vinyls
Sits in the corner of the living room
Dejected and alone
A haunted house
An auditory time capsule
/
My enfeebled bed commands my return
As it's limbs deplete
The walls are null
And my heart sings
The dissonant sounds of age
