Kids
In their blue rooms of film grain
Fighting a Playstation war
MTV slows down to the pills
Kids floating in the dark
Driving down a lost lane
Flares to light up a lunar park
Graffiti to cover up the world's mistakes
Kids burning a stolen car
Stumble across a zombie mall
They rise up to the roof
As boredom bleeds onto their iPhones
Kids stoned over a first world excuse
Clamoring in empty rebellion
Hollow eyes that see two moons in the sky
They're surrogates of someone left behind
Kids forgotten in the night
Note: Poem inspired by Porcupine Tree's 'Fear of a Blank Planet' and Bret Easton-Ellis' 'Lunar Park'
