Best affordable option for chest hair removal?

I get laser hair removal on my face at a local dermatology office. The results are fantastic. It's $175 per session for my face, which I can easily afford.

I asked the technician how much it would be for my chest. She said it would be $515 PER SESSION! There's no way I can afford that. That doesn't include my stomach, which I wanted to remove at the same time.

Are home laser devices a good option?

I used an IPL device and got some decent reduction but it's still pretty patchy in some regions, so I just startet using an epilator instead and let HRT do the permanent reduction. When the hair regrows after epilation it's usually thinner than before.

Still using the IPL on the face though.

Wtf that’s insanely expensive. I paid 300 for full arm and I feel that’s more area.

I never tried at home laser but I’m about to try at home ipl. Maybe epilate or if you hair responds well to laser hair removal just buy the home device and make sure it’s good.

300 for 3 sessions*

Yeah shop around, that does sound expensive. That said you might not need nearly as many sessions on the chest as on the face, especially if you're on HRT and/or don't need to catch every last hair.

This maybe?

Edit: You can probably find one used, but... used.

Shamelessly game groupon. Pay ~$200 - $300 for 6 sessions then switch to a different clinic when those six sessions are up.

My plan is to keep getting my chest/tummy waxed until the follicles are dead, dead, dead. Each waxing is good for about one month hair free, then I let it grow in for another month to maximize waxing effectiveness. I've done it three times now and the hairs are noticeable fewer and softer. Also four month HRT.

Waxing isn't going to kill hair though. HRT does inhibit body hair growth, but each person will get different results.

I'm pretty sure that enough waxing eventually teaches those follicles to just stfu

Um that's not how hair removal works. You might feel like waxing is causing less hair but it's HRT. When you pull a hair by the roots from waxing it can take awhile for that hair to pop out again, so it might feel like there's less hair, but there isn't.

If you aren't overly hairy you could consider Electrolysis. I'm at 9 hours on my chest - 4 clearances in 1 year. (My last chest clearance was 1 hour - 3 months of growth.)

An option may be switching to bicalutamide as anti androgen. Some people say it helped with body hair. If t levels are down already, not too high doses might be necessary.

A few things from here might be discussed with med personnel :

( from page 25) .

In general HRT may have an influence on body hair.

A part of HRT is still unchartered territory so it may be necessary to try out a few things until they work.

This might help too :
