Less Fortunate
Born into a rich family
enrolls into a university
and she travels abroad
exploiting the poor and weak
are poor people worthless?
are the ones who dropped out
to help their families less intelligent?
Since I did not go to university
Does that make me less educated?
Yet, I have a superabundance of books
on my shelf; each page changes my life
each page builds up my perspective
I see sad sullen eyes out there
Homeless people starving and turning to drugs
Single Mothers working various odd jobs
To give their children some form of a future
A future that does not lye in this place
I hope you can become stronger every day
Never let this world stop you
with its superficial standards and materialism
Keep thriving and make the most
you can, money does not buy character
and happiness triumphs intelligence
We can make it out of this together
