USDGC Ticket question

I live in Charlotte and have never been to a pro DG tour. I'd like to check out the USDGC this year, but there's no ticket information yet on their website.

Does anyone know what the prices are normally like and how they work? Do you have to buy the whole week? Can you buy individual days?

Also, How does spectating work? Do you get to pick a hole and/or card to follow?

It sounds like the USDGC will start being heavily promoted coinciding with all the Worlds coverage. DGU usually sells the USDGC merchant, as well as event tickets. I wish I could make it out there this year, I’ve had such a blast spectating in years past.

You don’t actually have to buy a pass. It’s public property and they can’t actually charge you to be there. However, if you do go ahead and buy a pass (if I recall correctly it’s about $10/day) you do get a free disc from the pro shop. It’s usually a lightweight driver with a USDGC stamp. You can just get the pass for one day if you want the disc, and then go for free the other days. Or you can get the whole tournament pass for a little bit cheaper than paying the daily pass fee.

You can decide how you want to spectate and which cards you want to follow. I like to set up by hole one and watch every player play it. You get to see them handle bad rollaway, and you also get to see the players tee off and throw some cool rollers on hole 2. I usually then follow the lead card through the whole course.

What's the point of the week long pass?

I honestly don’t know. I didn’t buy it last year, and the year before I was given a pass by a friend that got them for free. I think they just sell them as a fundraiser for the event. I just save my $ and spend it in the pro shop.

Day-of, can/should I buy a ticket at the shop? Or is it in advance only?

Last year I went expecting to pay and never did. Felt like I was getting away with something. Good to know I wasn't accidentally stiffing anyone. Sorta.
