Info about Pro Worlds?

Pro Coverage, Highlights and News

Has anyone heard updates regarding changes to the dates for Pro Worlds this year? On the DGPT schedule, it shows Worlds is July 30th through August 3rd and the Turku Open on the following weekend (Aug 8-10). But when I look on the PDGA calendar, Worlds isn't listed anywhere and the Turku Open is listed for Aug 1-3.

Was there a change to the schedule at some point?

This event seems to get so little attention. First round of play starts today at Smuggler's Notch, and I haven't heard much in the way of excitement about it. I know there aren't a lot of household names playing in the event, but is there more to it than that? Anyone else tuning in to see who the best old farts are?

The season is still young, and we don't have a whole lot of tournaments to go off of yet, but who stands out to you as having an unexpected start to the season?

I gotta go with Alex Russell. He just switched over to Innova this year, and has been absolutely tearing it up through the first 6 events. Top 15 at LVC and Memorial, and Top 3 finishes at WACO and Texas State Championships.

I absolutely hate the fact that it is legal within the PDGA rules to physically reach your hand into the basket and drop the disc in on a super close putt. I can’t explain why, but it kinda drives me crazy that it is allowed. The entire premise of the game is built around being able to control the disc in flight, and yet it isn’t required to throw the disc to finish out a hole. Why not just have a 1-meter “pickup circle”, and save everyone some time?

I don’t know. Like I said, it’s nothing that actua
