Is taking an online math course worth it for an MBA application?

On one of my free consults with an mba consultant, she recommended that I look into doing a class called "Math for Managers." Apparently it's something they recommend applicants do if they don't have a strong math background, or a great quant score, but want to show they can handle math course work.

I've done a little research and haven't seen this recommended anywhere else. Has anyone heard of this, or is this considered a good strategy?

If it helps, I want to apply to Carlson/Wisconsin/Kelley and I have a Q39.

You need to improve your quant score - what is that, 42nd percentile? What was your total GMAT score?

It is considered a good strategy for people with a low quant score, no quant undergrad work or poor grades in quant courses in undergrad. The best strategy would be to improve your quant score though.

Total GMAT is a 640.

I do have some quant class in undergrad that I performed well in (all B+ or higher), however it's only 4 classes. I didn't graduate with a STEM degree though, I eventually work in marketing/advertising.

Your preaching to the choir on improving the quant. I've devoted a lot to getting a higher quant score, unfortunately I'm just not a good test taker. I was looking at alternative strategies now as my work experience, ECs and narrative are all pretty strong.
