How I remember my mom
It was right when the sun was setting,
the air got cooler, so did she.
She was dancing to a peculiar song,
lost in thoughts with a pure mellow.
I remember asking if it's strange..
I thought it was so strange!
my father just smiled.
He said "I love strange."
Terracotta floors shifting with rhythm,
our black cat started playing along.
It was a step back in time,
her soul grooved to reminisce.
I couldn't help it, I started to wiggle,
edging closer only to hear 'c'mere hon'..
Streaks of pinon incense wrapped around,
it is a scent burnt into my third eye.
Now a reoccurring dream & vision of wonder,
a golden glimmer within my memory.
the night I danced with my mother.
