The See

the ocean took its vengeance today and i was capsized at sea

i will meet me grave with all the boys as foolish as me

six feet under a thousand miles of rough waters

and betrayal none the less

i hope when you read those words scribbled across your wrist

you remember that kiss, and if tasted good enough to end

everything you ever dreamt about

and i hope one day when you are walking the shoreline

you will take a peek beneath the current to see

exactly how i ended up, buried at sea

 

the SS abandonment has set sail for the last time

and aboard it was all the hopes and dreams we kept alive

i’m sorry it left port without you but

there just weren’t enough lifeboats

to keep both of us afloat
